What’s the job?
The Project Accounting team sit within the Finance department within SLC and is made up of Project Accountants and Programme Accountants. The Project Accounting team is responsible for the financial management of the Company’s Change Portfolio. The Change Portfolio constitutes a series of Programmes and Projects designed to meet the needs of stakeholders as well as delivering the Company’s strategic goals.
You will provide specialist financial advice to the client group as well as being an integral element of the governance structure. You are a finance partner to their area of responsibility and, as a subject matter expert, provide comprehensive financial reporting information and presents that information at key stakeholder meetings. You are required to ensure that your client group is financially aware to ensure risks and decisions are based on solid financial information and as such, simply explain financial concepts to non financial stakeholders and ensure value for money is achieved for all expenditure.
How do I apply?
You will possess full membership of a relevant professional body although consideration will be given to Part Qualified members of a relevant professional body who possess sufficient experience to fulfil the requirements of the role with Project or relevant Management Accounting Experience. You will have the ability to be flexible in approach to problem solving, to take responsibility for actions, deliver business focused solutions and to present financial risks and assumptions to non financial audiences. You will have experience of identifying financial governance risks and issues and generating corrective action, delivering investments appraisals that have influenced business decisions, identifying business financial efficiencies and opportunities and a proven record of understanding dependencies and reconciling all outputs
It would be highly desirable that you have experience of Oracle based system, Post qualification Project Accounting experience and a background of working in large organisations.
