What’s the job?
Student Loans Company is looking for a Project Accountant to provide specialist financial advice to the client group as well as being an integral element of the governance structure. As our new Project Accountant you will be the finance partner to your area of responsibility and, as a subject matter expert, you will provide comprehensive financial reporting. You will need to ensure that your client group is financially aware, so that risks and decisions are based on solid financial information. You would do this by simply explaining financial concepts to non financial stakeholders and ensure value for money is achieved for all expenditure.
As a project accountant you will be responsible for understanding stakeholder requirements to ensure customer focused results while providing day to day support to Programme and Project Managers assisting where necessary to provide financial analysis and advice. You would hold responsibility for producing month end Dashboards and Financial Reports highlighting any significant issues while supporting budget holders in understanding the impact of the monthly results and forecast against budgets to ensure budgetary control is maintained.
How do I apply?
To be considered for the role of Project Accountant it is essential that you have full membership of a relevant professional body. Part Qualified members of a relevant professional body will also be considered if they possess sufficient experience to fulfill the requirements of the role. You will have Project or relevant management Accounting Experience and have a track record of identifying financial governance risks and issues and generating corrective action. You will have a flexible approach to problem solving and will take responsibility for actions and deliver business focused solutions.
