What’s the job?
Responsible for all elements of management and cost accounting within SLC, you will deliver fit for purposes accounting services that meet the Organisation’s needs. Furthermore you will also deliver consistent financial planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting policies and frameworks to ensure fit for purpose consolidated reporting to support the SLC’s internal and external stakeholders.
How do I apply?
It is essential you are a qualified accountant with post qualification experience at a senior level. You will have demonstrable experience of establishing and developing management accounting approaches within a complex organisation/environment and of successfully delivering change to financial approaches and systems to create a fit for purpose accounting function. You will have the ability to deliver fit for purpose financial reporting to preserve the financial integrity of the organisation and to report on the financial position and risks effectively at the macro organisational level for summary reporting purposes. Equally importantly you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills to build relationships with a wide range of individuals to manage their expectations and achieve successful outcomes and the ability to influence the outputs of others to deliver a quality end product. Furthermore you will be an experienced line Manager who has developed teams with proven excellent leadership, delegation and influencing skills and ability to present with clarity and passion.
It would be advantageous if you had experience in public sector financial management and associated understanding of specific reporting & monitoring challenges, in particular application of HM Treasury Green Book guidance, Consolidated budgeting guidance or similar and exposure to costing or pricing techniques.
