Glasgow City Centre

Grade 4 - £41,276 - £52,133 per annum

What’s the job?

SLC are currently recruiting for an Information Governance Officer in the Information Governance and Compliance Team, within Assurance Services. The remit of the team has expanded from Information Security Governance to include wider Data Governance and Compliance. Leading in your principle areas of technical expertise, you will liaise with colleagues from across the Business including Operations, IT, Security, Corporate Services, Risk and Internal Audit, as well as middle and senior management to ensure that SLC complies with external Legal and Regulatory requirements as well as Internal Policies and Stakeholder requirements.

You must be flexible with the ability to apply their knowledge across a number of well established and emerging standards / areas including, but not limited to:

  • ISO 27001
  • Payment Card Industry – Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS)
  • Data Protection - EU GDPR
  • ISAE 3204 (Assurance Reports on Controls at a Service Organization)
  • Records Management
  • Data Quality governance
  • Public Services Network (PSN) Code of Connection

It is essential you have practical experience and expertise in relation to at least two, preferably three of the standards / areas listed and the ability to apply your knowledge to others.  Ideally, the preferred area of expertise would be Information Risk Management. 

You will use subject matter expertise, act with integrity, utilise a good eye for detail and the ability to engage colleagues from across the team and business, in order to build trust and effective working relationships in order to support SLC’s various Data Governance activities and navigate challenges to achieve desired outcomes.


How do I apply?

It is essential you are an experienced practitioner able to lead peers and work unsupervised with relevant Risk / Information Management, Compliance or Regulatory experience in a business facing role, broad knowledge of relevant Compliance and Regulatory requirements (outlined above), specialist knowledge and practical experience in at least two, preferably three of the areas (outlined above) and experience and understanding of risk management. You should be educated to Degree level or equivalent experience gained in Industry or Government with a relevant Industry recognised qualification or professional certification.
