What’s the job?
Student Loans Company is looking for a Governance and Controls Accountant to be based in the Financial Accounting team. You will support the Senior Technical Accountant in ensuring that systems of financial discipline, integrity and control are maintained to the highest professional standards expected of a major financial service organisation. The team is going through an exciting period of change and remodernisation and this role is integral in that progress.
How do I apply?
It is essential you have experience engaging with Business on areas of financial specialism, with the ability to lead and influence in area of specialism. Ideally you will have experience in a similar role, preferably with exposure in both financial services and a public sector environment. You will possess a High level of IT literacy and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office or equivalent, with experience of a range of mainstream financial systems and reporting packages. Experience of Oracle systems would be an advantage. Furthermore you will have strong technical knowledge of IFRS and other UK legislation such as VAT.
Preferably, you will be a CCAB qualified accountant with post qualification experience, however QBE will also be considered.
