Why SLC?

Do you have a passion for all things digital? Are you technically-minded with a keen interest in the latest technology developments? Do you have the skills to play a key role in ensuring our organisation is a digital, customer-focused centre of excellence?

If so, we might just have the job for you.

What’s the job?

The Digital Technologist – Quality and tester will participate and drive the testing of systems throughout the agile process while driving and implementing a comprehensive test strategy using appropriate testing tools and techniques.  They will introduce new practices and techniques to SLC whilst conforming to agreed standards and facilitate knowledge transfers to other testers within the department.

How do I apply?

Successful candidates will work closely with BSAs and developers to understand and define the system requirements/acceptance criteria of user stories and upcoming features.  You will understand the impact of said software on other areas of the system and identify gaps in the requirements.

A further education qualification in a computer related discipline or demonstrable relevant practical experience is essential with a proven track record of testing software developments in a structured environment preferably using java-developed web based systems.  The ability to question team members and SMEs to discover details of proposed functionality, rather than gather all information from formal documentation is required and then to fully understand the scope of testing, including which business processes and system functions need to be included.  The ability to test partially-completed functionality, understand what a defect is and what has not been implemented yet, and provide constructive feedback to developers.

Sound good? If so please apply below and a member of our dedicated Recruitment Team will be in touch!

Please note - As part of the selection process, SLC uses third parties to perform a number of pre-employment checks including reference, criminal record and credit reference. They may supply us with information that will assist us with our recruitment decision.
