What’s the job?

As Contracts Officer you will develop and implement tender and contract management plans for an allocated commodity area of expenditure which is aligned with, and supports the delivery of, SLC operational and strategic requirements for third-party expenditure.  You will also have responsibility for the management of contracts within the allocated commodity area throughout the contract life-cycle. 

You  will engage with stakeholders across the organisation to create and execute tender plans which meet stakeholder requirements, align with any applicable category strategy developed by the Category Manager, are compliant with legislation/governance requirements, and deliver optimum value for money for the UK taxpayers in a collaborative and timely manner. 

You will also undertake formal Annual and/or Quarterly Supplier Business Reviews (with support from a Contracts Manager and/or Contracts Specialist) with key suppliers in your assigned commodity areas to ensure supplier performance against agreed deliverables/targets is monitored, performance improvement plans are implemented where required and that SLC is maximising collaborative working and leverage with third-parties.

How do I apply?

You will have experience of procurement and contract delivery within a large / complex organisation preferably within a Public Sector environment, contract management including developing forward contract plans and some experience of supplier relationship management, interpreting contractual arrangements  and some knowledge of tender and contract management processes and techniques.

Furthermore you will have stakeholder management and influencing skills, good written and verbal communication skills, MCIPS accreditation or equivalent (or be willing to work towards this), ability to deliver to strict deadlines and targets and attention to detail and accuracy skills
