What’s the job?
You will manage the ongoing enhancement and implementation of the Commercial Governance and Controls Framework; covering Policy, processes, procedures, templates and systems. 
You will develop, implement and manage effective commercial policies and procedures for SLC’s commercial activities, reduce the risk of any challenge to commercial processes being undertaken by SLC, and you'll create a framework for good commercial practice and for securing optimal value for money for the UK Taxpayer.
You will also develop, implement and maintain a suite of documentation that underpins the Commercial Manual and supports the Commercial Services team and those involved in procurement across SLC in complying with the agreed commercial governance requirements.
Among other duties outlined in the available job description, your key responsibilities will include: 
  • Developing and Implementing a Commercial Governance and Controls Framework
  • Leading on the development and implementation of the Cabinet Office (CO) Spend Control Pipeline Register and have overall responsibility for ensuring ongoing alignment with CO Spend Control requirements
  • Leading the development and implementation of a Commercial Systems Strategy
  • Developing highly effective working relationships across the business and externally
  • Driving a culture of compliance and improvement
  • Ensuring a strong approach is undertaken to performance tracking and reporting
  • Supporting the Commercial Director and Commercial Services team
How do I apply?
To be a good fit for this role, you will have excellent knowledge of leading commercial practices on governance and policy design principles, processes and practices, plus experience in a procurement and/or compliance based role, ideally within a Public Sector environment. You will also have a proven record of developing commercial policy, processes and documentation, plus excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
